So far, we have all three of the above. This is the environment that is most likely to attract the kind of people who are the most likely to spend a lot of time online. It will attract people who want to get something new out there, who are willing to engage in some online activity. And it will attract people who are looking for something of value, who want to show off their identity.
Not the marketing environment, the “customer’s journey”. These are not separate from each other. Many people are drawn to the various forms of online activity, but when it comes to what makes them choose to become consumers, their decision is almost always based off of one of the above, and the other two are not relevant.

I can’t say that I know what every marketing strategy is, but I know that any person who works in a marketing environment knows that there are a lot of marketing strategies that are pretty dumb and that have a very limited impact.
I think marketing is a multi-layered thing, and at one level it’s about making people feel they are getting value for their money. At another level, it’s about making sales, and having your products promoted in a way that is consistent with how the company wants to sell your product.
Marketing is a combination of both. It’s not that simple, and neither is the marketing environment. I think the marketing environment is great, and it definitely has an impact on how successful a company is in achieving its goals. But like anything else, it’s about doing good, and that’s all marketing is. I think that there are some marketing strategies that are pretty dumb and have a very limited impact.
