People are always interested in what we have to say, so marketing is basically a form of communication that is more direct and immediate.
Marketing, like customer service, requires good communication skills. You need to know what you’re talking about and how to say it in the best way possible. And you need to be able to listen. If you are a customer service person you will have a lot of training and experience to be able to do this. But if you are a marketing person, you might be a little more comfortable when you don’t have to think about what you’re talking about all day.
