I recently read the book “The Product Marketing Handbook” by David Ogilvy. I’ve been reading this book since I was a teen. I have made a couple of notes and suggestions from it about how to make marketing more effective and less complicated.
I agree with Ogilvy and I believe he is absolutely right that the best way to make marketing fun, easy, and less complicated is to make it fun, easy, and not complicated. So I think for the first time in at least a decade we have a book that talks about how to do that.
I have read the book a number of times and found it to be incredibly fun and thought provoking. I think it is an excellent book to study for any kind of marketing class because it is easy to read, informative, and fun. I find myself going back to it all the time.
I don’t know exactly what the author’s goal is with this book. I’m sure it has something to do with the fact that it’s really easy to read, but I’m not sure what. For example, one of the chapters, “Marketing 101” is a good starting place to learn what marketing is and what it means to be a marketer.
