The best way to put yourself in the mindset of a brand is to look like the brand. So if its clothing, it should be fashionable. If its a company, its values should be strong. If its a person, its likable. If its a company, it should be profitable. When Im promoting a product, Im trying to be the brand. Just like if I was promoting my own products, Im also trying to be the brand.
I find that marketing is about much more than what the company does and its products. Marketing is about putting the brand in your own words, and it’s about being yourself. If you’re not putting yourself into the mindset of the brand, someone else will. This can apply to just about anything, from a brand’s own marketing efforts to the company’s internal marketing efforts and all the marketing strategies that the company uses.
I think the definition of marketing is to put yourself into a position where the people you want to attract want to be attracted to you too. Thats why I find selling myself to be so important. I know my own weaknesses and strengths, I know people that can get me interested in whatever I’m trying to sell, and I know the people that will eventually buy what I sell.
