I have a background in content marketing from an earlier career as a writer, graphic designer, editor, social media manager, and content producer. I am looking for a position that will allow me to help people become more aware of their digital presence and make their lives easier. I have been working with brands for over 8 years and am currently a marketing and web strategist for a national company. I have a BS in Psychology and a Masters in Education.
In my experience, the best content marketing strategy is when you can actually get the word out about an idea in a way that people actually want it to. That’s what I do. I’m also a former “content marketing consultant” that has worked with companies across many different industries. I have a lot of experience with social media and using social media tools to help your company become more visible and engage with the right audience.

I had a lot of fun as a content marketing strategist for a company for years when they were trying to get us to talk to people who are interested in learning about the world around them. I think many people are just more interested in learning, so it’s always a fun time to try and get the word out about something.
You may have noticed my recent blog posts talking about the fact that we have a lot of people that are not even aware that I am a content marketing specialist. We’re all too busy trying to get jobs and being awesome to be able to do something like this. So basically, I talk about what I do because I’m passionate about it and because I care about the people I work with.
The title actually just came from a conversation I had with a guy I knew that I thought would make a good content marketing specialist. He was telling me that he wanted to be a content marketing specialist because he wanted to be a good writer. I was like, “Really?” and tried to make the conversation more about the fact that I am passionate about content marketing.
Yes, I agree. I want to be passionate about creating valuable content and I want to be passionate about connecting with people and working with them. But I also want to be able to make money doing it. I’ve been a copywriter for 15 years, that’s my main job, and I’m not only paid a salary, but I get a stipend. I’m the first person of that size to ever get a salary. I also get stock options and a bonus.
I am not in this for the money. I like to earn a living doing what I truly love, but this is not a work of passion. I enjoy making money and I want to make a living doing what I love. I also want to be able to make a good living doing what I love.
I’ve had it up to here with the content marketing industry. There was a time I believed that content was the only business in the world where the best people were making the most money. It’s not like there is a shortage of awesome content creators. It’s just the idea of what is good content that’s hard to come by these days.
My advice to anyone who wants to be an “expert” in content marketing is to join a content marketing agency. Most have a great product, are passionate about it, and are willing to work hard to make it work. The real secret to content marketing is to find an agency you can get real work from.
